SORRY, WE'RE FULL
We have a couple of great presentations for you in March, Emily and Gabi lead the way with their recipe for events success, then we have James Cracknell (yes, that James Cracknell) and Marion from Macmillan presenting on their relationship as supplier and headline sponsor.
A splash of stewardship and a pinch of marketing: the recipe for events success
Emily and Gabi first met at St Catherine's Hospice where they both shared the same passion for pushing boundaries and overcoming the challenges faced in events fundraising and marketing. Whether trialing new events or breathing a fresh lease of life into existing ones, the duo knew the most important ingredients for success were an innovative marketing campaign and an engaging stewardship programme. In this session, the pair will share tips, tricks and insider knowledge for how to increase your acquisition and income through marketing on a budget, utilising fundraising incentives and the power of personalised stewardship. No matter the size of your charity or event you will leave with inspiring and simple methods to make your event a success.
Wednesday 28th March
3pm - 5pm
110 Southwark Street
Head of Communications and Marketing at St. Christopher's Hospice
Working on everything from crisis communications and strategies to event marketing Emily's role is diverse to say the least! Her experience at Cancer Research UK has shaped the way she approaches event marketing and, with a few small tweaks to current approaches, she has been able to increase participant numbers and income raised significantly. She also has a not-so secret love for gin, shopping and the sea!
Head of Community and Events Fundraising for London at Stroke Association
Gabi leads a team of seven, raising £1.2M for stroke survivors. Leading on events including Virgin Money London Marathon, our flagship bike event and developing grassroots fundraising across London, her role has seen her increase income by £250,000 in her first six months in post. Her passion is on building relationships and she sees the importance of getting to know fundraisers and their stories to convert them to lifelong supporters. Talking is what Gabi does best, in particular over a slice of cake of which she has probably baked herself.
